In our Park it is possible to educate children and adults about
natural, cultural and historical values of Medvednica in an attractive,
fun and interesting way. To us education isn't pure giving information,
but it represents a possibility of increasing the understanding
for the work of our Institution, promotion of our goals, influencing
the behavior of visitors, and last but not least, the possibility
of permanent connection of visitors with our mountain.
Medvednica belongs to all of us; we all share the responsibility
of its protection and preservation for next generations. Understanding
of natural values and whole cultural content is the first step
in its protection. Also, there are more and more visitors – tourists
which want to learn something about the area where they spend their
vacation. Park Management has recognized those demands and decided
to include new goals in its activities, such as tourism and education.
One of the means of indirect education are education
trails. Beside this, the Institution offers half-day, whole-day
and several-days excursions, along with educative games (educative
program PLT and interactive
education) for groups of children. We also offer a visit to Veternica
cave and to «Zrinski
mine» - medieval silver mine which gives a unique experience of medieval mining, both with expert guidance.
