Public institution manages «Nature Park Medvednica». Activities of the Institution are protection, preservation and promotion of «Nature Park Medvednica».

Founder of the Institution is Republic Croatia, and the rights and duties of Institution's founder are performed by Government of Republic Croatia.

Body of the Institution consists of Governing council and director. Governing council manages Public institution. Director organizes and manages work of the Institution, and represents it.

Statute of Public institution «Nature Park Medvednica» regulates the name, headquarters, activities, seal and sign, presentation, inner organization, management, structure, appointment and dismissal of the members of Governing council, assets and acquisition of assets, management of profits, environment protection and improvement, publicity of work, corporate secrets, general acts, supervision, and other issues significant for performing activities and work of Public institution «Nature Park Medvednica».

Issues of protection, improvement and usage of Nature Park are in more detail regulated through the Book of Rules on Internal Order in «Nature Park Medvednica», and it regulates misdemeanors and defines ruling measures for noncompliance with regulations of that Book of rules.

Public institutions that manage protected areas are located under relevant MINISTRY OF CULTURE, NATURE CONSERVATION DEPARTMENT , Sector for Protected Areas :

The Sector for Protected Areas approves management plans and protection measures for protected areas and keeps the central register of protected natural assets and register of public institutions for the protection of nature, supervises the professional work of the administrations of public institutions of national parks and parks of nature and supervises the financing of nature protection programs in protected natural assets, carries out expert tasks connected with compensating owners and authorized right holders over real estate in protected areas, carries out expert tasks connected with the assessment of damage compensation in the protected parts of nature, establishes nature protection conditions when issuing concessions and concessionary approvals in protected areas and natural assets, and participates in the adoption of physical plans of national parks and parks of nature.
